Dumbo layout

a layout of some pics from my first Disneyland trip when I was a kid.

I used Country Carnival Imagine cart for the letters.. and I filled them with the same patterns from the same cart. I cut the little elephant from Create A Critter and then used the cut as a mask and sprayed over it with green glimmer mist.

Campin' layout

I made this cute layout using Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Seasons.

The tent, front 2 sets of tress, and some of the flames are all on pop dots. the background paper has stars that are foil silver.

MCCR Theme day Thursday - Cookies or Milk

Hey everyone! Today is Theme Day Thursday over at MCCR the our theme is cookies or milk. I chose milk :).

For my card I used the Cricut Imagine Cards Inside & Out cartridge. This card is ready to go all you really have to do is print and cut. I added some layers to the inside.

Now this is the inside.. I'm pretty sure I did it a little backwards from how the cartridge intended but thats ok. I made the cut out hole a frame for a pic of my girls. Since this card is for Adam I wanted that to be the first thing he saw :)

And this is the back of the card. Pretty simple I really didn't do anything other than print and cut the standard card and put the front on the inside lol. Hope you enjoyed this card.

Miss Ewe Card - Card Creating Tues MCCR

Hey everyone! Welcome to my blog.. today is Card Creating Tuesday over at My Cricut Craft Room.

I made this "miss ewe" card based on the sketch for this week. I used the Imagine More Cards cartridge. I print the whole image and one of just the sheep and put him on pop dots. The card is 6x12 (6x6 when folded) and the image is cut at about 4.5-4.75.

For the banner I used red bakers twine and strung it across the front corner and cut the little pennants with my paper trimmer and scissors they're about 1 in (give or take) by like 2 inches and the top part has ATG tape inside and is folded over the twine thats how it stays on.

I put it in an envelope and tied it with the same bakers twine and put a tag on it :)... then I gave it to my hubby :D.

CWC Crops of Luv Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the CookingWithCricut.com, Crops of Luv Blog Hop. This month our designers chose to create layouts for the Crops of Luv Organization. If you came here from Natt then you are in the right place, if you need to start from the beginning, then just head over to CWC.

Crops of Luv works hand-in-hand with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and creates scrapbooks for families who have children facing life-threatening illnesses. Our hop will focus on creating 12 x 12 Scrapbook double page LOs using these themes: Princesses, Pirates, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Summer Fun (e.g. swimming), Christmas (yes, they have Christmas every Thursday at "Give Kids the World"), or general Disney themes.

Crops of Luv has some specific guidelines for the layouts. They need to include a journaling block or tag and mats for 3 4 x 6 pictures on each page. They also do not want the photo mats permanently adhered to the page. That way they can flip them whichever way they need to.

We hope you will enjoy our creations! We would love for you to participate. Here's my layout today:

A princess layout.

I cut the title out on the Imagine using the Princess title from the Once Upon A Princess cart and filling it with a pattern from the Best Friends Imagine cart. The heart at the end was made with purple bakers twine.. I drew the heart the way I wanted it with a Zig glue pen and then put the twine over that.

The crown is cut from the Birthday Cakes cart out of yellow shimmer card stock and put on a pop dot.

The 2 pink mats are for journaling and were cut with some scalloped scissors. The loopy twine boarders were made the same way as the heart at the end of the title.

This princess is cut from the Best Friends Imagine cart and I cut out some of the extra layers (the crown & dress) and put pop dots under them to make her stand out a bit more.

IMAGINE ation Monday - You take the cake card

Hey everyone.. today is IMAGINE ation Monday with My Cricut Craft Room. Here is the card I made using my Imagine and the Yummy cart...

I cut the "You Take THE CAKE" image with the Yummy cart and layered it on purple card stock that I embossed with the Swiss Dots folder in my Cuttle Bug.

I inked around the edges of the blue card with purple chalk ink and topped it off with blue bakers twine bow.

For the inside I just cut out this cupcake (which I changed the wrapper pattern to a different pattern on this same cart).

Diamonds are a girls best friend CWC #83

Hey everyone!

Today I have a layout I made for the current challenge we have going on at CWC... Diamonds are a girls best friend!

I started with a plain light pink background paper and stamped it with a large ring stamp and pink ink. I cut out mats in a hot pink 2.5x3.5 and 4.5x6.5.

Using my imagine and Cards inside & out I printed and cut out all of my images. I used different layers from the same card and then I added some stickles to make them all sparkle and some have glossy accents. I used pop dots on some to make them stand out.

How I got into Cricut

Erica is having a giveaway on her blog for the Cricut cartirdge Sophie.. to enter for a chance to win you must go HERE and read the description.. basically you make a post about how you got into Cricut.. and this is how it happened for me...

It was around summer 2009 when I was pregnant with my first baby, Jayden (now 2). I was up late having trouble sleeping (I even had to take some sleeping pills at times to sleep because it was so bad and my doctor said she'd rather have me taking some Tylenol PM than not sleeping enough).. so of course I kept seeing these infomercials for the Cricut Expression. I did a little research.. ok a LOT of research.. and decided I really wanted one to help me scrapbook my unborn babies baby book and everything before and after!

I kept bugging my husband, Adam, to buy me one and he told me "You don't need that it's expensive and you can just use scissors." I pleaded and begged and still.. nope you don't need it! So I decided I'll stop bugging him and maybe if I bring it up again later around Christmas he'll get it for me.

A few months later in late August.. I was admitted into the hospital at only 21 weeks and told there was a possibility I could lose the baby and was given the option to have a cerclage put in. After a few hours of thinking and talking with my husband we decided I'd get the surgery instead of just waiting to see what happened. The surgery went well but I was in the hospital for half a week before and almost a week after. Then I was told I was to be on bed rest the rest of my pregnancy, and since my husband just got a new job in a different state I could not move with him and had to live with his grandparents (I have family but they lived too far from the hospital for my husbands comfort).

Adam felt bad for me having to spend such an important time away from him (of course he was sad too) and having to be on bed rest with nothing to do.. so ... being the amazing man he is.. he bought me a Cricut Expression to keep me sane and happy while we were apart and it was to give me a head start on Jayden's scrapbook... (which has maybe 10 pages done lol!!). He got it on ebay brand new for $150 with the standard accent essentials and plantin schoolbook.. he also bought me Life's a Beach (since Jaydens nursery theme was to be under the sea/ocean). And he bought me Sure Cuts A Lot 2 so that he wouldn't have to buy me any other carts.. well I've got well over 60 carts now LOL! and a gypsy, imagine & extra expression lol. He loves me.. he's the best.

The very first thing I cut with my Cricut was Jayden's birth announcements which my husband designed in photoshop and stayed up with me until like 3AM cutting them out with me..

So that's how I got into cricut :D Hope you enjoyed reading my story.

She's My Kinda Rain Layout

This week at Cooking With Cricut the challenge is to use your favorite Spring song as inspiration. For my project I choose to do a layout of Harmony. I picked the song "She's My Kind of Rain - Tim McGraw"

Now I know what you're thinking... is that a Spring song? Well most probably wouldn't think so.. but when I think of Spring I think of rain. Then I decided on "She's My Kind of Rain" after going through hundreds of songs that popped into my head.. I tried to think Springy but just kept going back to rain. After looking at all the different songs I thought of this because it worked perfectly with what I wanted to scrapbook... Harmony Rain. And since this song has no actual meaning and is meant to be taken however you want it I take it to say She's My Kind of Rain.. which Harmony definitely is.. I couldn't think of a better way to put it :D.

Anyway... sorry about that long long ramble.. but I had to get it out here lol. So I made my layout using Country Carnival Imagine Art cartridge. I choose different patterns for the letters than what they had to make them all match in each word to help it stand out better.. I cut each letter at 1.5 inches except "RAIN" which was cut at 2inches to help it stand out a bit. The roses in the corners of the pics are also from Country Carnival and adhered with pop dots.. and the journaling tag is also from Country Carnival. I also added a ribbon across the bottom of the pics. The background paper I've had for a LOOOOONG time... like 5 years or so.

Imagine Help & 4th of July

So.. let me start with the most important part of this post. I got an Imagine for Mothers Day and will sometime this week finally get to open it (YAY im so excited!!). I just kind of jumped into my expression.. which worked.. but it took me forever to figure it out properly. So, I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions of blogs, or sites or anything like that where I could go to get all the info I need for starting to use the Imagine.. Im at square one.. I seriously have NO idea how to even begin to work the thing. I dont even know if I have to use a special type of paper for it lol. So any sites or blogs that have helped you out or any tips or info you can give me that helped or anything like that would be great!! thanks so much in advance for your help.

Now, onto my 4th of July. We spent it with my husbands family.. well we spent a lot of it getting ready to go lol. I for some odd reason ended up making a cake (with tons of help from my husband.. actually he did most of it lol). My pics aren't the best.. I took all of them with my iPhone since our Nikon was already packed and ready for the evening.

Adam got up at 6:30am (he couldn't sleep it wasnt like he had to or anything lol) and ended up having to go shopping to get a few things like.. oil and flour. We don't have a lot of stuff that we should have since we're still unpacking etc. He ended up baking all of the cakes and cutting them too.

How we made the flag cake:

We made 1 box of white cake (makes two 9inch circle cakes), 1 box of white cake that we dyed blue with gel food coloring (makes two 9in circle cakes, and 1 box of strawberry cake and added some red food coloring (makes two 9in circle cakes.

We cut the red and white cakes in half (to make each 1 cake into 2 cakes that could be layered.. not in half like a pie), then we stacked them (from bottom to top) white, red, white, red. With the top red & white layers we took those off the cake and stacked one blue cake with them and traced with a knife the lid of a sour cream container... then we took the middle of the blue cake and put it to the side.. and the outter circles of the white and red cake to the side.

I made a filling from cool whip and mashed up strawberried and filled between each layer.. and in the circle of the blue layer. Then we frosted the cake with cream cheese frosting that I made from my better homes cook book.. its the best frosting ever! lol.

We actually made 2 of these cakes.. one said "Happy 4th" and had fireworks and the other was covered in strawberries and blue berries. I only got a pic of this one cake because the other one was gone already and of course I didnt have my Nikon so its not the best quality of a pic.

The cake pops I made with the left over cake and left over cream cheese frosting. I just kind of eyeballed it.. no recipe or anything just added what needed to be added. I had got some of the melting candy from Michaels the day before.. one bag of white and one of red. I dipped lollipop sticks in the melted candy and then shoved them into the middle of the cake balls. Then I put them into the freezer for about 10-15 mins.. my cake balls were so heavy that it was the only way I could keep them from falling off the sticks into the candy. Pretty simple, I must add this was my very first time doing cake pops and for a first time they turned out pretty good. :)
