a new (to me) scrap supply site

Hey everyone I just found a new online scrap store.. they sale a few things at a time at really good prices. They're called Blitsy. I'm not getting anything for posting this but just like to share new sites with deals when I find them cuz I know I'm always looking for a good deal so I figure who isn't?! Well.. go check em out if you're looking for some stuff.. their stock changes all the time so you never know what you'll find there. :) Hope you find something there you can use.

I might have some projects later today... I have been crafting just not taking many pics.

I'm on the Cooking With Cricut Design Team!!!

This is a super exciting post for me because... It is my first post as a member of the Cooking With Cricut Design Team!!!! How exciting is that?!?!! I'm so happy to have been picked to be on the team! I love CWC and PCW. I've been following and playing along in their challenges for a long time so I was thrilled when I was told I made it!

Now.. onto the challenge! Our first challenge was to make a project for Dr. Seuss (in honor of his birthday). I choose to do a 2 page layout for some pictures I have of Adam reading "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" to Harmony & Jayden a few days after we brought Harmony home from the hospital.. this was the very first book he read to Harmony, so it was perfect.

I used the book cover for my main inspiration followed by my favorite quote in the book "And will you succeed? YES! You will indeed! (98 and 1/3 percent garenteed). KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!" I think its such an encouraging quote from the book and I think that it's the main point that Dr. Seuss was trying to get across.

So I started out by picking colors that matched the front of the book. Then I cut out the title using Pooh font on the marker setting at 1.5 inches in blue & then again on marker shadow at the same size in gold. I cut the mountains out using Paper Dolls Dress Up. I cut them as large as I could (4inches) and then lined them up and adhered them down with my ATG gun. I cut the photo mats in different colors that matched the cover for a 4x6 and a 2x3 pic the mats are 4.5x6.5 & 2.5x3.5.

Then the other thing I find very noticeable is the air balloons so I made those to put the quotes on using Create A Critter. Each balloon is a different size the smallest cut at 3inches and the biggest cut at 8 inches.

I cut the "baskets for the balloons by hand. I adhered bakers twine (in orange, blue & purple) from the baskets to the balloons. And I put the large balloon on pop dots. I wrote the quotes by hand with a white gel pen and inked around each balloon in ink (purple balloons in purple ink, gold balloons in white ink, & green in green ink). I went over the cut lines in the mountains in light blue gel pen.

Hope you like it, I think it's pretty cute and as soon as I get the pics for this page printed it'll be perfect! :)

Tink B-day card

Tinkerbell birthday card made using the Tinkerbell cart.

the front of the card... i used black, hot pink, and lime green cardstock, white ink, and hot pink ribbon. I used my big bite to punch holes down the side and thread the ribbon threw and then tie into a bow. I stamped the happy birthday stamp all over the black card stock and kind of made my own background. i think it turned out pretty cute :)

So... what's new?

Harmony: is now busting up laughing and its super cute. She can sit on her own unsupported for a few seconds now and supported for as long as she wants. Adam put her Exersaucer together and shes loving it (so is Jayden lol). Her current fav toy is her Hershey's Kiss. She's full of baby babbles and she says something that sounds just like "Yea Yea!" and she's said "hi" a couple times but we probably aren't counting it cuz she won't do it all the time.. she can wave and She got her first taste of baby food on Jan 30th (Turkey & turkey broth).. HATED it lol. She is also cutting her very first tooth.. my baby girl is getting TOO big TOO fast :( !!! That's all I can think of for "Harma" right now..

Jayden: won't stop talking! She's copying everything anyone says (cute and not so cute at times).. She can now draw an "O" a heart, and a "frosting mmm man" (frosty the snowman lol).. she's always making us laugh. She knows what an "A" "M" and "O" are and look like.. and can count from 1 to 3 (she was counting from 3 to 7 but she stopped for some reason). She also is starting to potty train (not off to a great start but it could be worse) and actually went poopoo on the potty chair on her birthday! Lots of funny stuff to tell about her but not enough time in the world lol :).

And me? Well... Adam bought me a sewing machine last week and it came on Friday but I didn't get it until Sunday night. (I've never ever used a sewing machine and couldn't tell you a thing about one or how to work one or even how to turn one on lol sad i know). My sister-in-law Rachel came over on Monday and taught me some basics (we also shopped for some basics and a couple patterns on Saturday) and she helped me make my very first project.. I'm pretty pleased to say the very first thing I ever sewed with a sewing machine was pillows to sit on the couches in the living room and they turned out GREAT! I can't believe that my very first time sewing with a machine was so successful I'm super pleased and never coulda done it without Rachel's help.. shes the very best Sister anyone could ask for. She's always helping me with something.. be it my senior project paper, a report for a college class.. helping me plan my wedding, making the dresses and vests for my wedding, making all of the diapers and dresses for Jayden, the crib set for Harmony, thowing my baby showers, helping me bake & decorate 100s of sugar cookies for a party when shes got tons of homework to do, planning parties with me, teaching me to sew or just being there for me.. she never ever lets me down (except that senior project but thats another story lol!!).

Anyway so I don't have any pics of the pillows yet but I'll take some and post them soon.. and maybe a pic of my new machine.. shes a beaut! Just what I needed.. another hobby.. cuz I'm not already busy with a 2 year old (which is in the beginning stages of potty training) a 4 month old (cutting her 1st tooth) and a paper crafting problem that won't quit lol! So I guess I'll have more than paper crafts to share now.. bad thing? we'll see! LOL

Jayden's 2nd Birthday Party Pt 2

I still have not found the pics of the invites, food, the food table banner, thank you cards and pinata but I guess this will turn into a 3 part post. I did however find pretty much everything else.

The Headband - I made this using a headband base from Michaels (clearance for $0.79), Pooh Ribbon from Michaels and the yellow ribbon is from Michaels $1 bin. I glued the yellow ribbon to the end of the base and then wrapped it around the base and gluing again once it was wrapped to the other end. I used my bow easy to make the bow out of pooh ribbon and hot glued it on the headband.

Food Tags - Using my Cricut and the Pooh & Friends cart I cut out Piglet, Kanga & Roo, Rabbit, & Tigger at 4inches. I then folded brown card stock in half to the size I thought good for each individual shape and folded in half to make a card. I then cut each "card" all raggedy on the ends to look like a wood sign. Then I wrote the different food titles on each card in white gel pen to look like it was done by a kid.

Favors - Each boy got a toy car, a ball, a slinky, a pack of pooh themed cards, a pooh puzzle, a pooh finger puppet, bubbles & honey sticks

Each girl got a princess phone lip gloss, 2 bracelets, a slinky, a pack of pooh themed cards, a pooh puzzle, a pooh finger puppet, bubbles & honey sticks

I made a special wrap for the bubbles red paper cut the the same size as the bubble labels with a small pooh die cut (from my cricut & pooh & friends cart), one had a bee die cut & one had eeyore. I also put a pooh cut on the honey sticks. The honey sticks were ordered from Chase Honey Company and came in packs of 8 with 2 of each flavor (10 packs of 8) and I also ordered 10 packs of 8 regular clover honey sticks.

Party favor bags - I cut out the stencil shapes from pooh & friends cart (one of each.. piglet, eeyore, pooh & tigger). Using red bags I placed the stencils on one side of the bag using a tape that I knew wouldn't rip the bags (photo squares that don't really hold) and brushed/ sponged on white paint. I did the same thing for 2 big gift bags using the same stencils. On the little bags I free handed each kid's name on the bottom and put a different design on .. and I free handed "Happy 2nd Birthday Jayden" onto one of the big gift bags.

Napkins - I wrapped plastic silver ware in red and yellow napkins and tied them closed with the opposite color of paper raffia.

"Jayden's Howse" banner to make this I used the Pooh font cart & cut the banner shape from Princess party and strung it up with paper raffia

snowman tag

Made these cute little snowman tags to go on bags of white chocolate fudge & white chocolate pretzels.

I used the snowman cut from the Hello Kitty cart and made the tag long enough to cover the top of the bag (about 4 inches) x 4 inches and folded in half so it was 4x2. I cut the tag shape using Accent Essentials. I inked the edge of the tag and used swiss dots and my cuttlebug to emboss one of the tags. The "there's snowman like you" cut is from Winter Frolic.
