2 page beach layout

For todays challenge the SweetSassyDiva DT was asked to create a 2 page mini album layout (5 3/4 x 8 3/4) that had a beach theme.. we get extra credit for using the same colors as the color challenge (bright blue, neon green, hot pink, yellow, orange).

I used Life's A Beach to create my layouts.
For the first page I cut the green cardstock down to 6.5x4.5 for a photo mat for a 4x6 photo. I cut the title for the scuba diver (under the sea) at 2 inches in blue and then I used a blue chalk ink to make it a little darker than the background, since I used the same blue for both. The seahorse boarder is cut at 1 inch and I cut off one of the extra seahorses so that it fit correctly to the page. I adhered the photo mat and the seahorse boarder. And for the title I used blue glitter glue to cover just the words and the bubbles and I only adhered it at the bottom so that the picture could slide in the picture.

For the 2nd page I got a tad more complicated. I cut out the seahorse from the card setting at 5 inches and cut off the back side of the card. I got a green piece of cardstock and cut it down to about 8 inches x 4 3/4 inches, folded it in half and dabbed some blue ink on the outside to give it a little color. I then adhered the seahorse cover to the front of the green folded paper and adhered the whole thing down (I plan to use it for journaling but it could easily fit a smaller pic & journaling). I added some blue glitter glue to the background like waves.. and pink glitter glue to the seahorse and sea grass on the card area as well as a google eye. The yellow octopus was cut at 2 inches and I cut out the orange at 2 inches also on layer 1. The eyes and mouth are scribbles 3d paint. The little pink shell on the inside of the card is 1 inch from the Create A Critter cart (I had a bunch left over from Jaydens b-day invites).

Superman Cart givaway!

Head on over to Creating A Crafty Life to see how to enter for a chance to win this Superman Cricut cartridge!!

The best news ever!!

So.. I'll start with a little background. My husband and I were both born and raised in the Vancouver, Washington area. We met there, dated there, got married there. Both of our entire families live there and all of our friends.

Right after we got engaged Adam took a job with the federal government as a Highway Safety Engineer. The job he took was a training job that required he move to Springfield, IL. This job also required he moved and traveled to lots of different places across the US.

When he took the job it was a 2 year training and he was planning to quit after the 2 years and move back home. This never happened lol, the money he was making was too good for him to go back to his old job and the only way he could possibly make that much was to work for a consultant, which means longer hours for just as much or less money. During his job he has been to probably over half of the US and I too have gotten to go with him on numerous trips to different states, which was lots of fun. It got to the point when staying in our own bed was a treat lol.

He flew back to WA and we got married after almost a year long engagement and long distance relationship (very hard to plan a wedding without the man you're marrying.. especially when he's paying for it all lol).

When I married him, I said goodbye to all of my family, all of my friends and everything I ever knew. It was just me and him. Nice, but lonely at times.

Over the next 2 years we flew home for holidays only and racked up quite the frequent flyer miles lol. Its hard to go home for a week at a time with at least 6 months in between and split that 1 week between 2 huge families and a ton of friends that might as well be family.

Then Adam got a job in WY.. I happened to be pregnant with Jayden and got put on bedrest. While Adam had to move to WY, I had to stay in WA... Its extremely hard to be pregnant and without a husband :( I know I am not the only one to ever experience this so Im not complaining lol. It was a very complicated pregnancy and Adam came home at least once a month to see me.

After we had Jayden we ended up feeling that she needed family so we flew home once a month to visit and Jayden just now being a little over 13 months old has flew on a plane over 20 times easy.

SO all this ranting just to let you all know why this news is so big.. Today.. Adam got a job at home! In the very town we met.. Vancouver. And.. its still with the Feds.. so we are very very excited. We won't know when we get to move until March but this is the greatest news we could have ever hoped for!

Honestly I never thought we'd get to move home.. I never thought Id be living in Vancouver again. But its finally happening. And our families are going to be overjoyed as are my friends. We are so blessed to have this oppertunity to move home.

So on that note.. that means I probably won't be crafting for a long time once we do finally get word of moving.. since all of my stuff will be packed up for who knows how long.. so you might not see too many posts from me after we move for awhile. But it is sooooooooooooooo worth it!! :D

Thank you for letting me share my excitement with you all!! :D

Be Mine Card

This card was fairly simple to make (most of my projects tend to be.. I guess thats life with a one year old). I cut the red card stock down to 6.5x5 (a tad smaller than the card) and then I cut out the hears on my Cricut Expression using Doodle Charms, I used both the scalloped heart and the normal heart and cut them all at different sizes.. 3/4 of an inch, 1 inch, 13/4 inch & 3.5 inches. I then adhered the red paper to the front of the card and outlined the big one and wrote in words (I was going for sweethearts type of phrases but I couldn't remember them all I know I got them wrong lol) with a black glaze pen, it gives the appearence of being embossed. And I used some black Scribbles 3d paint to do 3 dots in each corner of the card.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop hosted by K Andrew of Getting Cricky! If you are here from Janice Wilson of Stamping with Janice then you're in the right spot. If you just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning please go to K Andrew's Getting Cricky! For this blog hop K Andrew is celebrating her big move across the country with a big road trip, and of course this hop across the 50 states! She has asked us all to post a little bit about the state we are representing, and then to post our favorite craft project.

The State Im representing is:
Wyoming

(here are a few pictures of my favorite place to visit in Wyoming... Yellowstone)
Fav place to visit/ interesting fact:
By far the must see part of this State is Yellowstone National Park. It is just beautiful beyond words and even photos. My fav part about Yellowstone is the Bison.. they are just so adorable!! I've only been twice but both times I've seen tons of wild life including bears! Also, something to think about.. although Old Faithful is popular.. its definitely not the prettiest gyser.. it is also not the largest, longest, or loudest! It is popular because it always goes off at around the same times. If you want to see the true beauty of the park and all of its amazing gysers and pools etc.. you need to get off the main road, and go for a walk on a trail.

My Project:
This is the coffee table we have in our living room! I found it at a garage sale and it was a dark dark brown maybe even a cherry color. It was nicked and beat up and we got it for $7. It took me a month or so but I finally finished it. I sanded it down.. put a coat of maple stain over it.. I cut out the Wyoming logo with my SCAL as big as I could on a sheet of 12x12 paper... taped the paper down with masking tape and stained it with a walnut stain... and then I also did a rough stain around the edge of the table to make it look more rustic. Our living room theme is rustic country so it fits perfect! Hope you like it!

For my blog candy Im giving away the clear stamp set pictured below.

To enter to win all you have to do is:
