Grouch Chrirstmas Card

Our challenge this week at the SweetSassyDivaDT was to make a Christmas card using the Scotch Post-It Paper. I made this Oscar the Grouch Christmas card to give to one of my cousins (she loves Oscar).

Recipe:
Black textured cardstock
White Post-it paper
Crimson Post-it paper
Lime Post-it paper
Cocoa Post-it paper
Silver ink pad
Gold Adirondack Mixatives Alcohol ink (Tim Holtz)
6.5 x 5 inch white card
Christmas patterned paper (DCWV Holiday Collection the Christmas Stack)
Small paint brush
Sesame Street Friends cart
Happy Hauntings cart
Cricut

Instructions:
Using the Sesame Street Friends cart cut out Oscar1 at 3 inches, "blackout" with the black cardstock, "white" & "Layer 1" with the white Post-it paper, "Layer 2" with the Crimson Post-it paper, "Body" with the Lime Post-it paper, "Layer 3" with the Cocoa Post-it paper.

Using the Happy Hauntings cart cut out the "M e r r y" using the white Post-it paper at 1 inch.

Take the white garbage can and ink over it with your silver ink pad to give it the realistic look (I would have used a different color but I thought this would be a nice touch). Assemble Oscar. Adhere your patterned Christmas paper to the front of the card (make sure you have it cut a little smaller than the main card) and adhere Oscar to the bottom left of the patterned paper. Put a small amount of the gold alcohol ink on a piece of plastic or an acrylic block, using your paint brush paint on some of the gold ink over the letters from the Happy Hauntings cart. Peel and stick these letters to the top of your card (above Oscars head). With the gold ink write "Christmas" across the middle of the card just by using the tip of the ink itself. Let it dry and you're done! Hope you enjoyed my card!

2 Page Scrapbook LO

I made this 2 page scrapbook layout for one of the scrapbooks I'm making for people this year for Christmas. This page is going in the book I'm making for my cousin/best friend (Mai).. It's of the very first time she saw Jayden in person (aside from when she came home and went to an ultrasound).

I am entering this LO in the following challenge (also where I got the sketch):

Noel Banner

This was my very first attempt at a banner! I chose Noel because it is my baby girl Jayden's middle name. It was a fairly simple project and it turned out so cute. I altered chipboard coasters from Michaels to make this.

I am entering this banner into the following challenges:
Die Cut Dreams Challenge - #75 (anything but a card)

Instructions: I took 6 sheets of red cardstock and cut them just a little smaller than 4x4 so that they would have a little bit of a green border (the coasters were green when I got them), and I rounded the corners. I adhered the red cardstock to 4 of the coasts. I embossed the other 2 sheets of red cardstock with Devine Swirls and inked over the top with red ink to help the swirls stand out more and adhered them to the other 2 coasters. With the Pooh Font cartridge I cut out the letters NOEL in white at 3.5 inches using Shift & Marker Shadow.. and then I cut out NOEL again with the green dotted paper at 3.5 inches using Shift & Marker and adhered the green letters over the white to help them pop. I then adhered the felt angels on the two coasters with the embossed cardstock and added a red bow on the outer corner. I put a snowman button in the middle of the "O" using foam tape. Using my Big Bite I punched holes in the top corners of all coasters and threaded the green, red, and white ribbon throught the holes. And.. tada.

Recipe:
6 - 4x4 chipboard coasters (Michaels, these had green paper on them already)
6 - approx. 4x4 sheets of red cardstock
approx. 5 feet of white, red & green ribbon
Big Bite
Pooh Font cartridge
Cricut Expression
Devine Swirls Embossing folder
Cuttlebug
Red Ink
green dotted patterned paper
white cardstock
snowman button
felt angel cuts (hobby lobby)
double sided foam tape
ATG gun

Last night I recieved my very first blog award, how exciting!! I was awarded by Amanda of My Scrappin' Obsession! Thank you so much Amanda :)!

From what I've read, I am supposed to pick 3 things that make me or my blog unique.. *sigh*. I am also supposed to pick 5 other blogs to award..
1. Im always learning something new in the papercrafting world.. so I have different stuff often.. like when I learn something new.
2. Due to my husbands job I've had the oppertunity to move all over the country and have been to tons of different places.. therefore I have seen a lot of cool places and a lot of not so cool places lol!
3. I am a professional photographer.. (own my own wedding photography business and a studio in my basement) so I have TONS upon TONS of pics to scrap... If nothing else you'll at least get some photography ideas from my studio shots of my baby. I even set up shoots around scrapbook page ideas I have haha :D
The 5 blogs I award are:
On another note.. I will soon be posting about a HUGE blog cany Im giving away! There will be tons of stuff and the more people I have participate the more candy there will be.. it's gonna be BIG! I mean BIG! :). So stay tuned for that.. it should be up this week sometime.
Also today we're leaving town (a business trip for the hubby) we'll be up in the North East part of WY and on Friday we're goin to Devils Tower and Mt Rushmore.. should be fun .. and then we'll be back on Friday. So I wont have any crafts up this week :(
More news.. I am also goin to be starting work on a few Christmas gifts and Jayden's 1st birthday invites.. so i'll have some of that stuff posted sometime in the near future.. And lastly, Jayden & I will be flying home for Christmas on Dec 12 and we wont be getting back to WY until around Jan 5 or so.. so no crafts in that time either.. I will still check in and post some pics and stuff though. We'll be having Jayden's first birthday early so that our families can celebrate with us.
