BLOG CANDY: WISH A HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMIE!

Please wish my wife a Happy 25th Birthday. Also, please feel free to comment on the moderately mean card that we made for her! In case you can't read it in the photo, it says "We wanted to make you a cake by ourselves but dad had to help because there were toomany candles! Happy Birthday Mommy! We love you!"

I'm not quite sure how these blog candy things usually work nor what sort of prize we will offer. However, I will come up with some sort of prize for a randomly selected well wisher who posts birthday wishes as a comment to this post and spreads the word on their blog as well.

Comments must be posted by Noon PST on October 1.

Harmony Rain Larsen!! (LOTS of pics!)

We have our 2nd little girl now :). Harmony Rain Larsen was born on September 13, 2011 at 8:16am. She was 6lbs 5oz and 19 1/8 inches long.

Fun fact: Milton Hershey (founder of hershey's chocolate) was born on September 13th (the reason for telling you all this will make sense when i show you her birth announcements).

(my precious Harmony!)

Jayden loves being a big sister :) and shes so good at it too!
(sisters!)

We are so happy to have Harmony.. shes happy, healthy and super adorable (and super tiny).

(daddy loves his new lil girl!)

(leaving the hospital... a day early!)

(Harmony in her napper wide awake!)

I just finished Harmony's birth announcements (which i'll post on here when we actually get the inserts in and send them out). Sorry I've been gone so much but it's hard to find time to blog (with a 20 month old going through the terrible twos and a 2 week old), I really haven't even got to craft much lately except the birth announcements.

Tomorrow is my birthday (25.. ugh thats like 1/4 of a century wow im old).. so when I have a little more time I'll be doing a giveaway (i'll have a lil contest for the giveaway.. it'll be really easy thow I promise).

And while I was away.. among many many other things.. Adam took us all to the beach (it was Jayden's first time in Newport and Harmony's first time at the beach ever). I'll hopefully get some pics of that trip up sometime in the next couple weeks lol.

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day!

Halloween Card

Using the sketch at Peachy Keen I made this cute Halloween card. I've been wanting to use this embossing folder for forever.. matter of fact I wanted to buy it the other day cuz I love it so much and was unpacking some scrapping stuff and realized I bought it a loooooong time ago and didnt realize it.. SCORE! lol.

I used my I Rock to put the orange gems down the side.. and I stamped the pumpkin image on the orange paper and embossed with black embossing powder. I wrote the sentiment with Scribbles 3d paint and had the purple paper in my stash. I cannot remember what size I cut everything at.. sorry I need to start paying better attention!

Now.. I am also sending this card to Madison's I Feel The Love Project for September. Please head over to Madison's blog and check out the I Feel The Love Project, Its so amazing what Madison is doing over there.. This month Madison has asked us to make Halloween cards (that aren't scary and are good for children) and they are being sent to the children at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC). It's such a great cause and if you're already making cards anyway why not send one to brighten the smile on a child's face :). I only made 2 cards for the project this month.. I might make more but I doubt it since I wont be able to craft for awhile after I have Harmony on Tuesday.. but maybe I will.

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a great day!

Sleepy Layout

I made this layout using the 9.8 Sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. I also used some of my fav pics.. :) the one in the middle is my fav on this page.. Its of our first week out of the hospital with Jayden. Adam was so exhausted (so was I but well if you've ever been a new parent you know lol). He was doing all (or at least most of) the feedings (every 2hrs) and diaper changes. I was in a lot of pain (or at least on a lot of pain meds from my c-section) and I didn't know it yet but I was developing post-partum preeclampsia so I was also extremely sick.. so Adam was just being super dad! :D

Here is the sketch I used.. I flipped it a little bit. And you wouldn't believe it.. but.. no Cricut what-so-ever!

In the middle pic Adam is sleeping with Jayden in his arms.. they are on the floor next to the bed because Adam didn't want to disturb me cause I was so sick.. Well I believe he was just feeding here and they both ended up passing out there cause thats where I found them lol :).

For the title I used a Glaze green pen and separated the title from the journaling with little z's lol. The paper has the lyrics to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and thought it was super fitting for all the sleepy pics. I don't know who makes the paper or anything like that I've had it for a really long time.. since before we found out we were expecting Jayden (when we were trying to have a family) and I bought it at a Michales in FL while on vacation so yea Im not real sure about that. But the lyrics on some of the words glitter and its just cute. I hand cut the semi - circle and used some blue ink on the edges to make it stand out more. The blue journaling & captioning under the pics is with a blue Zig marker. I cut the slices of Twinkle Twinkle paper at different sizes varying from 1-2 inch strips.

Baby Shower Decore #3

Cookies in a jar!! I found the recipe online. My sister in law bought pint sized mason jars instead of quart cuz she didnt know and well we had to change the recipe a bit. lol. I bought the fabric from Joanns (isnt it cute it goes with the babys nature/forest theme nursery). I cut the flower shape for the tags with Accent essentials at 4inches. My husband printed out the instructions for me and I cut them out at about 3 inches using my circle cutter. I adhered the instructions to the pink tags (3 different shades of pink) and put some tiny deer (cut using shadow and Create A Critter cart in tan paper) over the top. I punched a whole thru the tags using my Big Bite 2.
I tied the fabric over the jar lids using the brown paper ribbon and tied the tags to the jars with the ribbon that tied the fabric on. :)

Baby Shower Decore #2

Here is the baby shower banner I made!!! Super cute! I was so happy with how this turned out I cant even begin to tell you all lol.

Used the paper ribbon stuff to string it up. The base of the banner the flower shapes are cut first in chipboard (I used cereal boxes etc) at 4 inches from the Accent Essentials cart. I then cut the shape again on light pink and bright pink card stock. I cut the letters out using Pooh Font cart in shadow first using a tan paper (the same paper I used for the deer on the napkins) and then in light pink & bright pink at 3 3/4 inches. I adhered the pink letters to the tan shadows.

I used some flower stamps and dark pink ink to make my own background on the bright pink paper. I embossed the light pink flower shapes with my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dots folder. I then inked it with a light pink ink to help the dots stand out. I put the letters on (alternating colors so they were opposite their background) using pop dots to help them stand out!

I cut 2 deer from the Create A Critter cart at 6 inches using the same shades of pink and a black shadow. The owl is also using the same shades of pinks and black shadow.. he too is cut at 6 inches and from the Create A Critter cart. I strung up the banner putting the owl between the words and a deer on each side. I used my Big Bite 2 to put some eyelets on all of the pieces so that I could string them easier and faster and they wouldnt ruin the cuts. I have eyelets in the shadow of the deer and owl and strung the ribbon behind the front of the cut so you cant see the holes on them :). Hope you enjoy!!
