Presents Layout

Hey everyone...

It's getting pretty close to Christmas. I'm surprised I've had a chance to scrap recently :). Today I am sharing a Christmas layout of me & Harmony.

I followed the sketch for DCWV December stack-a-holic challenge.

I used the Sparkling Holiday stack.

I cut the snowflakes, title, and ornaments with my Silhouette.

The triangles and tag were cut by hand.

I love all the shiny gold on this layout.

I tied on some wired gold ribbon on the tag, which is on pop dots.

The circular gold cut by the title is an Imaginisce punch.

I'm entering this layout into the following challenges:
Scrap Our Stash - D-I-E-C-U-T-S (D= dcwv, I=imaginsce punch, E = eyelet punch, C= cameo, U= unraveled ribbon, T= tag, S= snowflakes)

1 Month Harmony layout

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and you're having a safe Black Friday.

Today I would like to share this layout of my youngest daughter Harmony.

The blue butterfly background was cut down to size and then I cut the title out with my silhouette. I placed my 2" wide Coral Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon under the title and put the background title paper on pop dots.

I cut the hearts out and added them in place as well as the little banner. I finished the layout off with a wood veneer heart next to the heart at the bottom and added my journaling in white gel pen. I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout today!

Santa Layout

Hey everyone,

Today I have a cute Christmas layout to share. These are pics of my girls and my nephews with Santa in 2012. Its a tradition for my brother (and his wife) and I (and Adam) to take all 4 of our kids to get their pictures with Santa every year ever since my oldest nephew was born we always go to the same Santa. Last year he wasn't there :( we were kinda bummed and unfortunately, for some reason, we didn't do all 4 kids together and I think it had something to do with us not being able to get our schedules to work together. So anyway, here is my Santa layout.

I used DCWV stacks (Candy Cane Lane, Storybook Christmas, and Christmas & Winter Card Stock) to make this layout. The tags have burlap twine tied on them and the title is Thickers. I think my favorite thing about this layout is the Santa card in the middle of the pics because it fits with Harmony crying so well LOL.

Adorable Chicks Layout

Hey everyone!

Today I have a layout to share. This is Harmony and our two Ameraucana chicks, Cleo (gold), and Oreo (black/gray). These pics were taken this summer and they're already full grown and well.. Oreo isn't the precious hen I was hoping for... she turned into a lovely rooster lol. They're so adorable together though. Harmony LOVED to hold them any chance she could, and still does if they'll let her (but they won't lol).

I cut the title and other die cuts (chicks hearts etc) with my silhouette cameo. I used pop dots for 2 of the chicks. The rest of the page is adhered with zig 2 way glue and ATG tape. My red and green and gray papers are all scraps. The red feather is stenciled on with a stencil i made with my cameo.

Cheesecloth Ghost

Hey everyone,
Today I want to share a cute halloween ghost decoration.

The ghost is pretty easy to make and super cute when done. All you need is some black felt, cheese cloth, liquid starch, scissors, hot glue, and 5/8" red wired satin ribbon. You will also need something for a form to sculpt ur ghost (i used a balloon and a vase).

You soak the cheese cloth in the liquid starch than drap it around a form or base to make the shape. Let dry over night. Remove from base/form. Cut eyes out of felt and hot glue into place. Make a bow with your ribbon and hot glue into place. All done!

1st Day Layout

Hey everyone,

Today I am sharing a layout of Jayden's first day of Kindergarten.

All papers are Doodlebug. The little fabric cut outs (the glue, star, and apple) are left over fabric from Jayden's 1st day outfit that her Aunt Rachel made special for her to wear. The buttons are from my stash. The little red backpack button is on pop dots (its adorable! I LOVE IT!). The title is Thickers and the ribbons are both from my stash.

Ribbon Bookmark

Hey everyone,

today I'd like to share a ribbon bookmark.

For this project all you really need is ribbon, scissors, a button, an elastic hair tie, needle & thread (or a sewing machine), and hot glue & hot glue gun (optional).

I used 5/8" red wired satin ribbon and 11/2" navy blue mini stars wired ribbon.
This bookmark is such an easy project. If I hadn't hand stitched it probably would have only taken 15 mins. My hand stitching skills used to be decent, but I haven't hand stitched in quite awhile. My stitching was less than beautiful, so I hot glued red ribbon over it and it looks pretty good now!

Let me give you the easy steps real quick...
1. Cut ribbon to size (size depends on book... measure around and have a gap between the ends of about 2 - 3 inches.
2. place elastic band on one edge about an inch in and fold ribbon over the elastic.
3. stitch the end of the ribbon thats folded over the elastic making a loop out of the ribbon that traps the elastic in.
4. on the other end of the ribbon sew on a button. DONE!

(optional steps if you want to clean up the edges)

5. fold back the ribbon edge the button is on toward the inside and hot glue down.
6 wrap a different ribbon over the stitches from the elastic.

I hope you guys enjoy this project and give it a go yourself.

Easy No Sew Ribbon Head Band

Hey everyone,

Today I have a no-sew ribbon head band to share.

The supplies you will need:
Gray fold over elastic smaller than your ribbon (any color you like will work)
Hot glue gun
Hot glue stick(s)
Scissors
button or something similar to put in the middle of your flower (optional)
grip shelf liner (optional for lining the inside of the ribbon to help it stay in place on the head)

Step 1.
Measure out your ribbon by putting it around the head it will be going on. Cut it a few inches shorter than the full amount to go around the head.

Step 2.
Measure your elastic by putting it with the ribbon and fitting it around the head. You will want to make it so that it has to stretch to fit around the head (so that it stays on).

Step 3. (optional)
Here is where you would make your flower. To make the flower take the ribbon and pleat it in a circle while adding hot glue to the center to hold it down. Continue this until the circle is complete. Once the circle is finished hot glue a button (or item of your choice) to the center of your circle. Once your flower is finished hot glue it to the ribbon and place it wherever you want it (I choose to go off to the side slightly).

Step 4. (optional)
This is where you would line the inside of your ribbon with the grip shelf liner. Draw a line of hot glue on the inside of the ribbon a little at a time and push your liner down into the glue line. You will want to have the liner run the length of your ribbon.

Step 5.
Add a hot glue line at the end of the ribbon on the inside and place one end of your elastic on it. Than do the same to the other side of your ribbon and elastic making sure not to get it twisted.

Step 6.
Enjoy your new headband!

Keep Calm & Love Harmony Layout

Hey everyone,

Today I have a 2 page baby girl layout to share. These are pics from Harmony when she was first born and had some visitors in the hospital.

All of the gold (title, hearts & dots) around the page are gold vinyl. All cut with my Silhouette Cameo. The pocket page inserts are from a few different collections. I don't even know for sure which but I believe 2 of them are project life and the other one I'm not sure about. I cut the strips of paper (gray, mint, & yellow) with a paper trimmer and added some yellow baby ribbon across the yellow paper strip on the bottom.

I am entering this layout into the following challenges:

Newport Open Sea 2 Page Layout

Hey everyone,

Today I have a 2 page scrapbook layout to share. One of my favorite ways to use ribbon on a layout is to use it as banners. I used the Dark Mint Lyon Wired Ribbon in 1-1/2 in to make the banner on the top right of the layout. I just cut banner shapes by and out of the ribbon and adhered with ATG tape. I made sure that the tops of the banners had the wired edge to help me bend them into shape to make a curve.

I used the 1-1/2 in Dazzle Grosgrain ribbon in Tropic Blue to line the bottom of my pictures. I also added some over a couple different photos and one of the purple paper edges as photo corners. Over the bottom part of the dazzle ribbon I added a strip of Lavender 7/8 in Double Ruffle Ribbon. For both ribbons on the bottom I cut to have a banner/pennate shape on each end. To do this and have them the exact same you take the ribbon and fold over the ends (so that with the ruffle ribbon the ruffles from top and bottom touch), and then cut at a diagonal slant going up and in toward the middle of the fold.

I cut the title out using my Silhouette Cameo and added some different color sequins that matched the rest of the page around the edges of the title (in hopes they would resemble bubbles). I hope you all enjoyed my layout.
