Hey everybody!!!

Our Design Teams are so excited to bring you a two-day hop that focuses on projects for your home – that’s right no cards or scrapbook layouts in this hop! You should have arrived here from visiting Melissa at Crafty Gator. If you’ve joined us in mid-Hop and would like to check out all the other fantastic projects head on over Melinda’s Paper Crafting World and start at the beginning.
For my project I altered a candy jar. See... my oldest, Jayden (2), is going through her potty training (not very well I might add LOL), and to help encourage her to use the potty chair we let her pick a treat out of a bucket of candy. Well I've been meaning to make it look a little bit more classy and fun so that she really really wants it. Right now her candy is in a blue plastic bucket she got for Christmas and it sits high on the counter where she can't see it or grab it.
So I got a clear glass candy jar (we had got a bunch to use for my husbands grandparent's 50th anniversary party at the make your own sundae bar), from Ikea. To start I cut out the letters with my Cricut Expression & Pooh font cartridge in purple glitter vinyl. And then I stuck them on the jar. I used a medium circle punch to cut out the circles to put around the YAY on the lid. I wanted something flashy to help catch Jayden's attention and make her feel like she was getting something really special. And I wanted glass so she can see the candy inside she could have if she used the potty chair.
It says "YAY!" on the lid.. "JACK" on one side and "POTTY" on the other. See her potty chair is the JACK POTTY.. its a potty chair like a slot machine.. also a bright idea to make it flashy and have her think she's a winner for using the potty chair.
We hope you’ll link up your Home Décor project for a chance at winning one of our giveaways. One winner will be chosen by random draw and three others will be selected by the Design Team. Head on over to Cooking With Cricut for the guidelines and the link up.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! We used something similar to this when my grand daughter was learning to potty, except we used a "treasure box" I decorated for her.
